
The bronze medalist of the NANDINI AGASARA DEZIA Agasara created a sensational effort to win the Heptatlon gold at Asian athletic championships 2025 on Friday in South Korea in Gumi in Gumi. Agasara, who watched the Chinese Liu Jingya by 54 points before the final event, 800 meters, returned to get the title with the best of the 5941 points.
Agasara scored 2: 15.54 at 800 m to earn 885 points, while Liu managed only 2: 24.87, earning 759 points. The swing was enough to push the Indian around her Chinese opponent and the position of the gold medal.

With this victory, Agasara became only the third Indian, who claimed the Asian Championship of Heptatlon Gold, after Soma Biswas (2005) and Swap Barteman (2017).
Heptatlon, a two -day event involving seven disciplines – 100m obstacles, high jump, shot, 200 meters, long jump, spear throwing and 800 meters – requires consistency and mental power.
Previously, Gulveer Singh has strengthened his long -distance heritage in Indian long distances by winning his second gold medal at Asian athletic championships and straining a new record in a thrilling 5000m final of men on Friday.
The National Record holder was 13: 24,77, pulled out by Thai Kieran Tuntivate (13: 24,97) and Japanese Nagiya Mori (13: 25,06). In 2015, he interrupted the previous record of the previous meeting 13: 34.47, determined by Qatar Muhammad Al-Garni.
This victory limited a sensational pair for Gulveer, who previously claimed gold at 10,000 meters with a time of 28: 38.63 on the start day.
With this performance, Gulveer joins the elite group of Indian runners to win 5000m gold at a continental meeting – along with Gopal Saini (1981), Bahadure Prasad (1993) and G Lakshmanan (2017).
