
The Asia Cup trophy, which was not presented to the winning Indian team after its refusal to accept it from the Asian boss of the Asian cricket Council of Mohsin Naqvi, was locked at the Dubai headquarters of the ACC “instructions that it should not be moved or handed over” without approval.

“Naqvi has given clear instructions that only he will pass the trophy personally (whenever this happens) to the Indian team or BCCI,” he added.
The whole Cup of Asia was overshadowed by the hostility Indo-Pak. The Indians refused to shake their hands with enemies in the tournament, and players from both sides ridiculed each other with politically charged gestures.
Naqvi also made political statements on his social media website.
BCCI gained a strong exception to his act of leaving the trophy and promised to raise the matter at the ICC meeting next month. It is generally speculated that a strong step towards NAQVI censor and even removed as a director at ICC.
“It remains to be seen what the long -term consequences for PCB or NAQVI will be, because it is clear that (NAQVI) had no right to insist on handing over the trophy to the Indian team itself and refused to send it to BCCi who were official hosts of the event,” said the source.
