Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha (PTI Photo) NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed disciplinary action against several players from India and Pakistan following several heated encounters during the ICC Asia Cup 2025. A code of conduct hearing, led by members of the ICC’s elite panel of referees, probed incidents from the India-Pakistan matches played on September 14, 21 and 28.In the 14 September clash, India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan were found guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the International Criminal Court’s Code of Conduct, which deals with conduct that brings the game into disrepute.

Suryakumar was fined 30% of his match fee and awarded two points on merit.Farhan received an official warning and one demented point.Rauf was fined 30% of his match fee and also awarded two demerit points.A week later, on 21 September, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh was charged under Article 2.6 for an alleged offensive gesture, but was found not guilty after a hearing conducted by match referee Andy Pycroft.The Asian Cup final on 28 September brought further disciplinary action. Jasprit Bumrah accepted a charge under Article 2.21 for conduct that brings the game into disrepute, received an official warning and one point for a fault. Since he confessed to the crime, no formal hearing was held.Haris Rauf, meanwhile, was sanctioned again for the same offense following a hearing before Richie Richardson. He was fined an additional 30% of his match fee and received two more deserving points, bringing his total to four points over 24 months. This triggered an automatic suspension and ruled him out of Pakistan’s ODIs against South Africa on 4 and 6 November 2025.Under ICC rules, a Level 1 breach carries a maximum fine of 50% of the player’s match fee and up to two demerit points. Accumulation of four or more demerit points over a two-year period will convert to suspension points, resulting in a ban.
