The President of the Asian cricket council (ACC) Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the release of Asia Cup 2025 will be played in a hybrid model and will take place from 9 to 28 September, while the United Arab Emirates are ready to host the tournament. The announcement came after the ACC meeting held in Dhace 24 July.
The tournament will be played in the T20 format with preparations for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will host India and Sri Lanka. “I was pleased to confirm the data ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates. As India reported beforeEight teams will participate in the following edition: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, SAE, Hong Kong and Oman. A total of 19 matches are scheduled, and India and Pakistan are expected to be placed in the same group. This could set the possibility of three high-level clashes between Archivals-One in the group phase, one in Super Four and potentially the third in the finals.
India has been marked as an official hostess for release 2025 and is in charge of completing the match schedule. The cricket control council in India (BCCI) works on the final proposal, although several commercial aspects are still negotiating.
A significant share of tournament income is powered by Indian sponsors and transmitters. Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), which provided the rights to the ASIA CUP actions in 2024 reportedly in an agreement worth $ 170 million in eight years, will try to earn money on high viewers, especially for potential meetings in India-Pakistan.
Last week, BCCI personally attended the ACC meeting in Dhace and the target of the tension between India and Bangladesh. However, Vice -President Bcci Rajeev Shukl practically joined the meeting. Meanwhile, the bilateral series of the India-Bangladesh series was postponed indefinitely in August 2025 due to the ongoing diplomatic trunk.
