The match, held at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, saw Ashutosh shine with an unbeaten 66 off just 31 balls, guiding DC to victory in the final over.

Chasing a challenging target of 210 set by LSG, thanks to strong performances from Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh, Delhi Capitals found themselves in trouble early at 7 for 3. However, Ashutosh’s composure and aggressive batting turned the game around. He smashed five fours and five sixes, forming a crucial partnership with Vipraj Nigam, who contributed a quick 39 runs, to revive DC’s hopes after they were reduced to 113 for 6.
With 18 runs needed in the last two overs, Ashutosh held his nerve and expertly managed the strike. He sealed the win with a spectacular six off Shahbaz Ahmed’s delivery, finishing the game with three balls to spare.

After his stellar performance, Ashutosh dedicated his Player of the Match award to his mentor, Shikhar Dhawan. In the post-match presentation, he expressed gratitude for Dhawan’s guidance and shared his determination to finish games this season after missing similar opportunities last year while playing for Punjab Kings.

“I took the lessons from last year. I missed out on finishing the game on a couple of occasions in the previous season. The whole year I focussed and visualised about it. I had the belief that if I play till the last over, anything can happen,” he said.
“Well played to Vipraj. I asked him to keep hitting. He was very calm under pressure. I want to dedicate this award to my mentor Shikhar paaji.”
