England Star Batter Joe Root promised a new approach for the upcoming Ashes series in Australia. With a number of five tests starting on November 21 in Perth, Root believes that his party will accept hosts with a new mentality, various strategies and a positive, offensive style of playing Australia on their home lawn.
When he talked to Sky Sports, Root emphasized his confidence in the English selection, approach and improved thinking this time will have a real difference and will offer a variant that Australia may not differ before.
“It’s a big series against a side that has a great record at home, especially against us. But I think it’s the first time we can hit them with something a little different. We go there with another team, another mentality, another way of playing and we played some good cricket late.
While Root has achieved remarkable success in the test cricket, he still has in Australia in Australia – a milestone that escaped in 14 matches in 27 shifts, where he accumulated 892 runs of 35.68. His highest score remains 89 and registered the nine years of the 1950s in difficult conditions. Yet Root is clear that personal milestones are secondary to team success.
“This tour is not about doing 100. It’s about going and winning a series Ashes. As an experienced player, if I go out and make a big score and a big 100 years, then it gives us a great opportunity to go and do it,” he added.
Root focuses on helping England to build strong partnerships and collective performances that can provide the party with a real chance to get back Urn for the first time since 2015.
England, led by Ben StokesHe will hope that he will break Australian dominance, supported by a “basball” with the leadership of coach Brendon McCullum.
