
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrives at China on Tuesday on board a private train to participate in a military show in Beijing, rare travel outside his country, which will focus on his ties with Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

AHN byung-min, a South Korean expert in North Korean transport, said that for security reasons, North Korean leaders need several trains.
According to AHN, these trains have 10 to 15 cars each. Some of these cars are used only by Kim Jong Un and are equipped with facilities such as the bedroom, while others carry safety guards and medical staff.
These trains also have space for the office of the North Korean leader, communication equipment, restaurant and carriages for two armored Mercedes, said AHN.
A video released in 2018 from North Korean state television showed a meeting of Kim with the best Chinese officials in a wide train car ringed with pink sofas.
Photographs issued on Tuesday provided another view of the train, this time his office and table. On the table you could see a gold laptop computer, a bank of phones, Kim’s signature box of cigarettes and bottles with blue or clean liquids.
