The opening set was a roller coaster for Sabalenek and Swiatle. Sabalenka raced on the 3-0 lead with a double break and stood in a commanding position. But Swiatle, who won the title four times, fought hard and broke three times to continue 5-4, her first set in the set.

Sabalenko kept pressure and broke again to take the commanding line of 4-0. Swiátk now faced a daunting task to present a comeback similar to her struggle in the opening set.
But Sabalenka did not give Swiatlek a great chance to return to the competition and finish the match most clinically. Swiátk made 42 unforced errors, which eventually turned out to be crucial.
Sabalenka will now face the winners of the second semifinal between Lois Boisson and Coco Gauff.
