In an effort to solve heart attacks at an early age, Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala works with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Aiims) in New Dill to develop innovative treatment.
The research wing Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, the Center for Research of Medicinal Plants (CMPR), joined forces with AIIMS to develop phytomedicins derived from medicinal plants for the treatment of early cardiovascular aging, an developing area of scientific interest.
The head scientist CMPR Sulaiman CT and Aiims another professor Din S. Chandran together formulated a research plan. Arya Vaidya Sala also teamed up with Madras Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to perform similar research initiatives with clinical perspective.
“Integrated research of bridging Ayurveda and modern medicine is needed for hours,” said Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, managing the administrator and chief physician of PM varier after signing the memorandum of understanding with Dr. Chandran.
“At Arya Vaidya Sala, we have always preferred and supported such efforts to cooperate on progress in holistic and health -based evidence,” said Dr. VARIER.
Dr. Sulaiman explained a common research program and said that Ayurvedic medicinal plants are rich in cardio-arrangements and offer opportunities to create new treatments to combat early cardiovascular aging.
“Our proposed research plan focuses on the preventive aspects of early cardiovascular aging. We are trying to use natural compounds to promote heart health and delay the onset of vascular decline,” Sulaiman.
According to Dr. Chandrana is indicated by arterial stiffness with reduced flexibility and increased rigidity and is a key indicator of vascular aging. “As we age, arterial stiffness tends to increase due to structural and functional changes in the arterial wall,” he said.
