At least 14 people from Assam’s Tinsukia district were killed and seven others are missing when the truck they were traveling in fell into a gorge in Arunachal Pradesh, officials said on Thursday.
The incident took place on Hayuliang-Chaglagam Road in Anjaw district in the eastern part of the hill state. Tinsukia District Commissioner Swapneel Paul said investigators received information about the accident at 11 am today, Thursday.
“Today at around 11 am, we received information that a vehicle fell into a ravine in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh. Accordingly, we have contacted DC Anjaw and Teja to confirm,” an official told news channel PTI.
The incident in Arunachal Pradesh comes just days after another accident on December 7, in which six people died after a car fell into a 600-feet deep ravine at Saptashring Garh Ghat in Kalwan taluka of Nashik.
