Artist Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel to participate in cultural exchange, workshop in Italy

Internationally acclaimed artist and photographer Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel based in Kalaburagi has been invited to participate in the “International Collaborative Art Performance & Sculpture Workshop” in Venice, Italy from September 17-20.

The three-day art exchange titled “Art Beyond Borders: Creative Dialogue between India and Italy” is jointly organized by the SMD Foundation and HU Venezia and will bring together 11 prominent Indian artists representing Karnataka, Assam, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Baroda along with leading European artists.

The workshop seeks to transform art into a bridge between cultures through collaborative performances, sculpture, dialogue and creative exchange, fostering friendship and deeper connection between the Indian and European art communities.

The Venice program is part of a 15-day European study tour from September 9 to 23, which includes France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy, as well as Florence, Rome and the Vatican. Participating artists will visit famous museums, galleries and monuments and encounter masterpieces associated with Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Vincent Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Picasso.

For Mr Patel, the trip will include visits to the Louvre Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Sistine Chapel, the Accademia Gallery and the Coliseum, offering an inspiring encounter with Europe’s artistic heritage.

A noted resource on art, architecture and history of the Deccan dynasties, Mr. Patel is a recipient of the National Lalit Kala Award (2014), CCRT National Fellowship of the Ministry of Culture (2016-17) and Karnataka Academy Lalit Kala Senior Fellowship (2018), among others. He also established his own art gallery, museum and research center.

Having traveled to the United States, Great Britain, Russia, Turkey, China, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and several other countries, Mr. Patel continues his artistic journey across borders.

From the Deccan to Venice, the journey carries more than artists; conducts a dialogue between cultures and histories.
