Arshdeep Singh was in high spirits and channeled his inner Akshay Khanna as the Indian team received a special welcome in Colombo ahead of their T20 World Cup 2026 clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, February 15. The Indian team landed in the Sri Lankan capital late on Friday evening after their win against Namibia in New Delhi on Thursday.
The Indian team was welcomed in Colombo with much fanfarewith traditional music and dance, they set the stage for an incredible entry into the city. Head coach Gautam Gambhir led the way while star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was spotted with his girlfriend. Indian opener Abhishek Sharma looked in good spirits after overcoming a bout of stomach infection. While most of the team members and support staff acknowledged the traditional dance, Arshdeep decided to take it a step further.
Just like Akshay Khanna’s character in the famous song from the movie Dhurandhaar, the Indian pacer decided to get into the vibe of the traditional song and danced to it. Axar Patel who was next to Arshdeep couldn’t control his laughter when he saw his teammate’s steps. You can watch the full video below:

ARSHDEEP’S IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE in T20 World Cup
Arshdeep has been one of India’s key bowlers during the T20 World Cup 2026 as the tournament hosts maintain a perfect record, winning two out of two. The left-arm pacer has picked up three wickets during this time, at an average of 18 and an economy rate of 7.71.
Against India’s opponents Pakistan on Sunday, Arshdeep picked up seven wickets in four T20Is at an average of 17.57. The clash between the arch-rivals in Colombo is expected to decide who finishes top of the table in Group A, but it threatens to rain.
