India’s left-arm spinner Arshdeep Singh breaks Jasprit Bumrah’s record during Team Super 8’s second match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Thursday, February 26 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Arshdeep took an impressive three-wicket haul (3/24 in four overs) as India restricted Zimbabwe to 184/6 in their 20 overs to register an impressive 72-run victory.
During his spell, Arshdeep etched his name in the record books by becoming India’s highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history. The left-arm seamer surpassed Bumrah’s tally of 33 wickets to climb to the top of the order with 35 scalps to his name from just 19 innings at an average of 14.25 with an economy rate of 7.33.
