Even before the final of the T20 World Cup final was played, Arshdeep Singh had a script ready for his reels. And when he posted them on Instagram minutes after the trophy presentation, they turned out to be absolute bangers. | IND vs NZ Final: Highlights | Scorecard |
“I was thinking about ten or fifteen overs, we’ll see how many we make,” Harsha Bhogle said in an interview after India beat New Zealand by 96 runs in the T20 World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The first was a banger. Justice for Sanju Samson!
“Paaji, justice milgaya,” said Arshdeep with Samson in the shot. It was a classic reference to social media chatter about Sanju Samson finally getting his due. After being in and out of the team for years, Samson was finally able to cement his place on the team. After starting the T20 World Cup on the bench, Samson got his opportunity when India opted to split their top three.
Samson made full use of the opportunity to smash 89 off 46 balls in the final against New Zealand – his third consecutive 80-plus score in the tournament. He started his redemption arc with a sensational 97 in India’s successful chase of 196 against the West Indies. He then threw himself into England’s bowling attack, smashing 89 off 42 balls in India’s mammoth total of 255 – a score that was enough against a spirited England side in the semi-finals.
Samson deservedly won the Player of the Tournament award for his big knocks on the biggest stage, amassing 321 runs in five matches.
Justice for Samson, indeed!
PLEASE SMILE GAUTI BHAI
Then came another banger – the one with Gautam Gambhir. Arshdeep made sure that the head coach of the Indian cricket team indulged in a rare big smile in his role.
Known for his stoic and serious demeanor in almost all circumstances, Gambhir let his guard down and enjoyed being a part of Arshdeep’s viral moment on social media.
Another reel followed, this time with Ishan Kishan playing a key role in India’s T20 World Cup triumph with 317 runs in nine matches. When Ishan got into the side at the eleventh hour on the back of sensational domestic performances, he added extra firepower to the top of the order.
“Paaji, Ek Bihari. Sab pe baari,” said Arshdeep and Ishan, referring to the viral line from the popular Bihari song.
And then there was one with Jassi bhai. Man of the match in the grand final Jasprit Bumrah joined Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep on the express reel.
Then Arshdeep took center stage for the final reel of the night.
It was all about India becoming the first defending champions to retain the T20 World Cup crown. It was also about Arshdeep playing a key role in both the triumphs. In 2024, he finished as joint-top goal-scorer with 17 goals in eight games and followed that up with nine goals in eight games in this edition.
“The first time was so nice, we had to do it twice,” Arshdeep said in his solo reel.
