The Chief of the General Staff of the UPENDRA DWIVEDI Army on Monday (July 7, 2025) appreciated Major Bachwal Rohit for helping a pregnant woman in need at Jhansi station in Uttar Pradesh.
Major Rohit is a gynecologist and medical officer in the Army Medical Choir.
July 5, while he came to his hometown Hyderabad after a holiday from Jhansi Military Hospital, Major Rohit was involved in a critical medical intervention that illustrated the highest standards of military service. Women in visible need near the elevator area noticed at the Jhansi railway station. She fell from a wheelchair and was in advanced work, in her statement, another General Directorate of Public Information (ADGPI) said.

The ADGPI also stated that the showing exemplary presence of the mind and clinical skills made Major Rohit an emergency supply on the railway platform itself using improvised sources, including a towel, knife and hair clips.
The newborn did not respond at birth; Major, however, successfully resuscitated the infant. The mother later developed complications related to the delivery of placental, which he effectively managed using available protective measures and clinical judgment, ADGPI said.
The mother and the newborn were stabilized under his care and were subsequently transferred to a government medical facility for further care, ADGPI said.
Major Rohit’s rapid and decisive behavior, under non -clinical and source circumstances, is a proof of his medical knowledge, calm under pressure and unwavering commitment to the ethos of the armed forces, she added.
