Arjun Tendulkar has made a strong early impression on Lucknow Super Giants ahead of IPL 2026, catching the attention of captain Rishabh Pant during training sessions. The youngster stood out not only with his attitude but also with his bat weight which carries a distinct touch of Sachin Tendulkar.
After joining LSG for the new season, Arjun was seen engaging in conversations with Pant during training sessions at the Ekana Stadium. One such discussion about bat scales quickly gained attention and a video of the exchange went viral on social media.

When asked about his bat by Pant, Arjun revealed that he prefers to use a heavier blade, which surprised the LSG captain.
“1220(gms). Touch karo toh jaati hai. Papa toh 1310-1315. Main toh 1200 se halka toh main jaata nahi hoon. (It flies even if you touch it. Papa played with 1310-1315. I don’t go below 1200).” Arjun said.
The numbers left Pant visibly taken aback, especially as Arjuna’s bat is heavier than that chosen by many modern cricketers.
Arjun also showed his determination by joining the training camp shortly after his wedding earlier this monthwhich brings us straight into preparation for the upcoming season. That was also something that impressed Pant with the 26-year-old all-rounder’s enthusiasm.
SACHIN’S LEGACY BEHIND ARJUN’S BAT WEIGHT
Arjun’s preference for a heavier bat reflects the influence of his father, Sachin Tendulkar, who famously used one of the heaviest bats during his playing days.
Sachin’s bats usually weighed in the range of 1310 to 1315 grams and he rarely strayed from this weight despite changes in the game.
Instead of reducing weight, Sachin modified the design of his bat over time, allowing him to rely more on timing and placement as his career progressed.
This approach helped him maintain control and accuracy, even without relying on brute force.
Arjun seems to follow a similar path, choosing a bat that suits his style while remaining comfortable with a heavier blade.
ARJUN TENDULKAR SPRING IN IPL 2026?
With a new opportunity at Lucknow Super Giants, Arjun will be looking to make his mark in IPL 2026. He has appeared in only five matches in two IPL seasons so far and is yet to deliver a breakthrough performance.
The move to a new franchise offers him a fresh start, and early signs from camp suggest he’s ready to make the most of it. LSG will begin their IPL 2026 campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 1.
