Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu visited the Arasavalli Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple on Monday (October 5, 2026) and said that it will become one of the main spiritual destinations of the country once it is developed with ₹55.74 crore under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. Along with Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar and other senior officials, he interacted with officials, priests, public representatives and locals of the temple, 2 km from Srikakulam, about its development.
He said that the Ministry of Tourism will start works such as Sun Experience Centre, dome structure on the sun deck, restaurants, shopping area and other facilities under the project. He commended the Collector for preparing a detailed report on the project which led the Department to sanction the funds. The center selected 57 destinations across the country as part of the program and approved funding for 17 of them.
