The Andhra Pradesh Government Medical Association (APGDA) has submitted a representation to Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, urging him to appoint one of the six eligible candidates as Director of Medical Education (DME).
In a letter submitted to the minister on Thursday (7 May 2026), members said there were six eligible candidates serving as Additional Director of Medical Education (ADME) who could be appointed DME. An ADME should have completed two years of service to be eligible for the DME position.
They said the government has not yet appointed DMEs according to seniority and asked the minister to appoint DMEs in accordance with National Medical Commission (NMC) norms and promote the dignity of senior doctors in the state.
