Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board announced ‘Taleem-e-Hunar’ talent test for free residential secondary education for 250 Muslim students. Selection will be purely on the basis of merit.
Selected students will get special coaching for IIT-JEE, NEET and EAPCET, apart from free hostel accommodation, food and books. 33% reservation is available for female students.
AP Waqf Board Chairman Shaik Abdul Aziz said this was the first attempt of its kind in the country and the state government was determined to change the lives of poor Muslim students by providing enterprise level education.
Andhra Pradesh natives belonging to BPL or LIG category who have passed SSC examination (Batch 2025-26) with 450 marks and above or CBSE/ICSE with 75% or above are eligible for the programme.
Mr. Aziz said that the talent test will be held on May 17. Last date for submission of applications online on apwaqfboard it’s May 12th.
The Waqf Board also announced that the intake will be increased to 500 students from the academic year 2027-28.
