BC Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Janardhan Reddy said villages in the state can develop only under the NDA government. He added that the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led government was providing basic amenities in the villages.
Mr. Janardhan Reddy on Sunday attended the launch of various development programs at Palukuru village in Banaganapalle constituency, including inauguration of 150 KL head tank built at ₹ 97.70 crore, internal CC roads and lateral drains built at a cost of ₹ 28,000 crore in BC Colony, with four other MNREGACC funds.
Addressing the villagers and local party leaders, the minister said that in Palukuru village itself, construction work worth ₹4.35 crore was done in the last 20 months, while the previous government neglected the village for the last five years. He said the TDP government spent ₹ 1.57 crore on village development during its tenure from 2014-19.
“The NDA government is changing the face of villages,” he said, adding that it has successfully implemented all the “Super Six” schemes. He said the government has issued notification to fill 10,000 government jobs and also facilitated free travel for disabled persons in RTC buses under the ‘Divyang Shakthi’ scheme.
During his visit to the village, Mr. Janardhan Reddy also unveiled a statue of former Chief Minister and TDP founder NT Rama Rao. Though several leaders have joined and left the TDP, the party’s strength lies in its cadre, who have remained loyal to the party even in tough times, he said.
Earlier in the day, several YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders joined the TDP in the presence of Mr. Janardhan Reddy.
