Representatives of the AP Specialty Hospitals Association (ASHA) have called a protest at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada on Thursday (October 23, 2025) citing the state government’s failure to release funds of ₹ 2,700 crore to private hospitals despite their strike ending on Tuesday, October 21 (October 12).
ASHA president K. Vijay Kumar said about 1,000 people from network hospitals across the state are expected to participate in the demonstration.
It may be noted that the network hospitals have discontinued their services under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva from 10th October. Association representatives said they would not enter into any discussion with the government until the initial amount of ₹670 million was paid.
In a letter to the government before the strike, representatives said they could no longer provide medical services under the scheme due to rising fees.
