IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh greeted the participants of Telugu diaspora meet in Dallas, USA on Sunday.
IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh on Sunday (December 7) said that Andhra Pradesh is moving forward with the slogan ‘One State – One Capital’ and ‘Decentralization of Development’. According to him, the state is overcoming troubled times which he said started in 2014 when the state was “unfairly bifurcated”.
Then there was the YSRCP tenure from 2019 to 2024, during which development took a back seat and everything was in ruins. However, the TDP-led coalition government has brought the state back on the path of growth and this would not have been possible without the support of the people, he noted.
Addressing the Telugu diaspora in Dallas on the first day of his five-day tour of the US and Canada, Mr. Lokesh said that he and his family were defamed by YSRCP leaders and N. Chandrababu Naidu was jailed in false cases planted against him. That was the time when the non-resident Andhras rallied behind Mr. Naidu and his wife Bhuvaneswari, who had taken a lot of trouble for defaming the YSRCP.
The YSRCP were emboldened in their attacks on Mr. Chandrababu Naidu when the then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took it lightly and even supported them. All those who resorted to “character assassination” will be brought to justice, Mr. Lokesh said.
Mr. Lokesh said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was a brand ambassador for development and that Mr. Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan were taking the state forward with due support from the Center under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A concerted effort was made to develop the state, keeping the welfare of the masses in mind.
While the coalition partners (TDP, JSP and BJP) were striving to achieve all-round development of the state, the YSRCP politicized everything despite being cheated in the 2024 elections, Mr. Lokesh said, urging people to ensure that the NDA remains in power for at least another 15 years as continuous progress and continuity of the government was essential. Odisha.
AP Non-Resident Telugu Society President Ravi Kumar Vemuri, TDP USA Coordinator Komati Jayaram, Garland City Mayor Dyland Hedrick and others were present.
