The School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Innovation Corps (IIC), under the auspices of Chicago University Trust (India), to enhance the effective implementation of the ‘Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme’ in government schools.
The MoU was signed during a meeting at the office of Human Resource Development Secretary Kona Sasidhar on Thursday in the presence of Mid Day Meal and School Hygiene Program Director and State Project Director Samagra Shiksha B. Srinivas Rao, Higher Education Commissioner and Director Narayan Bharat Gupta and ICC Manager (Sstavanior Riishik Modiment Manager), Tushar Malhotra (Project Associate) and others.
Mr. Sasidhar said the MoU will facilitate higher quality services to around 3.23 lakh students who get meals daily in 42,230 schools and colleges in the state and enable the ministry to use modern technologies like data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve transparency and efficiency in implementing the scheme.
The IIC team will help in accurately estimating the number of students consuming meals, monitoring nutritional standards, reducing administrative burden and enabling faster decision-making, he said.
Officials hoped the partnership would elevate the state’s Mid-Day Meal program to a higher level of digital governance.
