Andhra Pradesh sanctioned a comprehensive system of improving water supply of 450 GBP for Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) in order to ensure fair and sustainable access to safe drinking water throughout the region.
The new system, approved by the Ministry of the Municipal Administration and City Development (Ma & UD), includes the former city local authorities (ULB) Mangalagiri and Tadepalli, along with 15 newly merged villages, with the exception of six villages that have currently been designed for the Chamber of Capital Development (CRDA).
“The project is designed to bridge the gaps in the area of water supply, especially in newly integrated areas, and to ensure reliable provision of services until 2056,” S. Sutesh Kumar, MA and UD, said on Saturday.
MTMC was created by merging the villages of Mangalagiri and Tadepalli with 21 surrounding villages. The earlier initiative supported by the Asian Investment Bank of Infrastructure (AIIB) with the CRORE 221 GBP has only made partial progress due to limiting financing, so that the main components – especially in newly combined regions – are non -configured.
To solve this, a newly detailed report of the project (DPR) has been prepared. The proposed source scheme from the Krishna River and includes new facilities for reception and treatment, as well as distribution networks for insufficiently operated zones and the completion of earlier works funded by AIIB.
“This system means an essential milestone in our efforts to ensure fair access to the city services and reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable city growth,” Suresh Kumar added.
