AP government is working to empower the poor through education, says social welfare minister

Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy on Thursday said the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh is working tirelessly to empower the poor through education.

Addressing a workshop organized at VR Siddhartha Engineering College in Vijayawada for District Coordination Officers (DCOs), Principals of Ambedkar Residential Schools, Assistant Directors of Social Welfare and Assistant Welfare Officers (ASWOs), the Minister said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is committed to ensure that poor people get quality education and are able to fulfill this vision. Residential schools and welfare hostels, comparable to those available in corporate training institutions.

He stressed that teachers and staff must strive to achieve 100% pass rate in examinations and that the 100-day action plan and Mustabu program should be strictly implemented in every school.

Warning against neglect of hygiene, the minister said toilets and school premises must be kept clean and teachers and staff must pay special attention to the health and safety of students.

Students who are lagging behind academically should be identified and given the necessary support and training, he stressed. Along with academic education, the minister stressed the need to teach students moral values ​​and said they should be aware of concepts like good and bad touch.

Informing that the government has increased the number of IIT and NEET centers of excellence from three to 10 and that three more centers are planned to be set up this year, he urged the officials to ensure that more students secure admission to IITs and medical colleges through NEET.

He said CCTV cameras, RO hydro plants and mechanized kitchens have been installed in residential schools and hostels. He insisted that 100% satisfaction should be achieved among students and parents regarding hygiene and facilities through the IVRS feedback system.
