Andhra Pradesh Power Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has asked Discoms to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all temples and their adjoining areas across the state during the Maha Sivaratri festival.

In a teleconference with DISCOM CMD L. Siva Sankar, I. Prudhvi Tej and P. Pulla Reddy and senior officials on Wednesday, Mr. Ravi Kumar said that as a large number of devotees are expected to visit Shiva temples and other shrines, uninterrupted power supply needs to be maintained for the smooth running of religious programs and for the convenience of devotees.

He stressed the importance of implementing standby power wherever needed and ensuring O&M teams are 24/7 ready to quickly resolve any issues.

Further, the minister directed the officials to carry out preventive maintenance of feeders, transformers and distribution systems to avoid unforeseen breakdowns.

He told the Discoms to put in place emergency recovery mechanisms and ensure that field officers at all levels remain on high alert during the festival.
