The Chief Minister of N. Chandrababa Naida ordered the officials of the medical department to identify the cause of the more deaths that occurred in the municipality of Turakapal in the Guntur district in July and August, taking the necessary preventive measures by considering them as a medical need. He told them to seek the help of central medical teams, the IZ Institute of Medical Sciences All India (Aiims), Mangalagiri.
On the basis of an urgent revision meeting on the prevalence of illness in his camp office, Mr. Naida told officials on Friday to study symptoms thoroughly and conduct a comprehensive investigation to zero to the exact cause of deaths that rang the alarm bells.
He ordered to order special medical teams to perform 42 prescribed medical tests for each of the inhabitants to the village of 6 and 7. In this way, officials should prepare a public health profile to be better equipped to solve meters. The instruction ordered that patients who were seriously ill should be hospitalized immediately and provided proper medical care.
Suspicion of meloidosis
When Mr. Naida said that death could be caused by the spread of harmful bacteria with air, water, food or soil, he ordered safe drinking water to be supplied and the awareness of the importance of hygiene and safe food procedures.
Officials reported the main minister that the cases in the Turacapalem showed signs of meloidosis. Bloody samples were sent to the laboratories and the news was expected in 72 hours, they said. These bacteria were found in soil, stagnant water and humid lands, especially during monsoon and floods, and people with diabetes, kidneys or liver problems, and those who have poor immunity were at greater risk of infection.
The possibility of transferring bacteria from animals was examined due to the dependence of villagers on livestock for their livelihood. Most patients were found to initially suffer from fever and cough and lung damage in later stages. Officials noted the prescribed six -week antibiotic course.
