Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday laid foundation stones in virtual mode for seven major industries to come up at Kuppam in Chittoor district.
The new projects, including Hindalco, Srija Dairy, Ace International, SVF Soya, Mother Dairy, E–Royce EV and ALEAP Women’s Industrial Park, together involve an investment of ₹2,203 crore. The government has earmarked 241 acres for the projects. These businesses are expected to create more than 22,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mr. Naidu said the state government is providing full support and ensuring fast track clearance for industry through the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) while developing specialized hubs like Space City, Drone City and Aerospace City.
“Kuppam, which was once considered backward, is now turning into a model district for industrial and social progress,” the Chief Minister said.
Key projects include Hindalco setting up a ₹586 crore aluminum extrusion unit for high-end mobile and technology components, while Srija Dairy is investing ₹290 crore in an integrated dairy and cattle feeding unit that will benefit women and farmers.
Ace International will set up a greenfield milk protein complex at a cost of ₹525 crore and SVF Soya will invest ₹373 crore in an edible oil and soya protein unit that will benefit two million farmers.
Mother Dairy will set up a ₹260 crore juice and pulp processing facility, while E–Royce EV will set up an advanced electric vehicle unit worth ₹200 crore. Developed at a cost of ₹ 27 crore, the ALEAP Women’s Park will support 4,000 women entrepreneurs through training and employment.
Mr. Naidu said eight more industries with a total investment of ₹ 6,339 crore would soon come up in Kuppam and create 43,000 more jobs. “Our aim is to create a model Kuppam India constituency, 100% solar, zero landfill and industrially vibrant,” he said.
Highlighting prosperity along with growth, the Chief Minister detailed the ongoing welfare initiatives, pensions for 37,000 beneficiaries, LPG and housing schemes, solar roofs for SC/ST families and support for dairy farmers.
“Industrial growth and prosperity must go hand in hand. People’s cooperation is the key to sustained progress,” he said.
Calling it an unforgettable day in his public life, Mr. Naidu thanked the people of Kuppam for their trust and support. “It is my responsibility to bring in industries; it is the people’s responsibility to make the most of them. If we work together, the sky is the limit,” he added.
