Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was involved in compromising the Tirumala Parakamani theft case in the Lok Adalat, adding that the latter had also tried to settle the murder case of his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy.
“It was terrible. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy did not consider the Parakamani case as a serious matter for obvious reasons,” the chief minister said during an informal chat with the media at the TDP headquarters near Mangalagiri on Saturday.
Mr. Naidu said that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remark that the Parakamani theft was a minor case was shocking and hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Venkateswara.
By his words and actions, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has shown his lack of respect for the Lord of the Seven Mountains and the sanctity of Hindu temples. To say that since the stolen money was returned, Parakamani’s theft should not be considered a wrongdoing at all, was highly unethical and tantamount to trivializing the sacred offerings made by devotees to Lord Venkateswara, he said.
Responding to a question, Mr. Naidu said the government gave priority to law and order. “In Vizianagaram and Nellore, which were known for their calmness and peace, criminal activities were rampant. The government is taking necessary steps to curb this menace,” he said.
capital
Referring to the construction of the capital city, Mr. Naidu said that the issues that were hindering the development of Amaravati were being resolved amicably. He said positive results could be seen from his meeting with farmers who had given their land under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS).
“The process of LPS-2 is going on smoothly as the farmers have given their consent for it,” the Chief Minister said.
The construction of the capital has gained momentum and problems are being solved one by one, he said, noting that some individuals who were unable to digest the progress were trying to create problems.
