On Saturday evening, the tension near Keral Sahitya prevailed there, as the police prevented the anti -war rally organized by Janakeeya Munnani (folk anti -war front), with ten activists in preventive custody before the event began.
The purpose of the assembly was to send a message about the peace in the middle of the continuing tension between India and Pakistan, and the organizers demanded a dialogue on conflict and stressed that “war is not a answer”. However, the police intervened before the assembly and quoted potential threats for law and order.
Bharatiya Janata previously announced his opposition to the assembly, which caused an increased police warning. According to the police, the permit to this event was rejected by concerns that it could disrupt the law and order in the current sensitive climate.
