The “Madhuram Jeevitham” campaign (Life Is Sweet) was officially launched on Sunday on Sunday by Minister of Higher Education by R. Binda. The Minister stressed in the inauguration that the initiative exceeds awareness of the drugstore and focuses on the wider spectrum of social dangers today affecting youth.
“There is an urgent need to deal with the growing trend of violence and destructive behavior of young people,” Dr. Bindu. “This campaign integrates creative, community programs that they can address at local level, encourage young people to accept the sweetness of life and look at it with positivity and purpose.”
The campaign includes the creation of Vigilance committees at all levels, strengthening consulting services and organizing drives in local bodies, industries and institutions. The Minister called on the support of the NSS volunteers, Kudumbashree members and other forces at the local level to lead the drug movement.
It also ordered all educational institutions in the Irinjalakuda election district to create vigilation committees by June 26, together with the competition and activities.
The opening event was a promise against drug abuse, Unity lamp lighting, drug songs and thematic dance performances. The event was chaired by municipal chairman Irinjalakuda Marykutta Joy.
