Congress leaders, led by Minister of Social Care BC Ponnam Prabhakar, descended strongly to State President BJP Telangana Ramacander Rao for his notes that 42% of the BCS reserve (BCS) cannot be included in the ninth schedule for legal problems.
Mr. Prabhakar accused President BJP of revealing anti-BC thinking of the party and plot against the interests of the BC communities in Telangana. The Minister challenged Mr. Rao’s claim and reminded that Tamil already had higher reservations and protected by inclusion in the ninth schedule.
The Minister pointed out that the Supreme Court in the Indira Sawhney approximate point clearly decided that if the state had empirical data and authentic surveys, he is entitled to take decisions on reservations. “The Government of Telangany conducted a scientific survey and, with the consent of the cabinet, the legislative choir and the governor, submitted its proposals in front of the center,” he said.
MLC Addanki Dayakar said that Mr. Rao’s statement reflects feudal thinking of BJP and their lack of interest in ensuring 42% of reservations. The other leaders of BC, Chanagani Dayakar, Indira Shobhan, Gouri Satish, Keturi Venkatesh and Lingam Yadav said at separate press conferences that BJP will not be spared unless they provide reservations.
