Former India Off-Spinner R Ashwin believes that a free-sided Pacer Anshul Carten belongs to a rare breed of fast pitching, in the form of Zheer Khan and Jasprit Bumhrah, and feels the 24-year-old ready for the test cricket. After injury to Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, the Carten was developed into a team.
Ashwin, who spoke on his channel on YouTube Ash Ki Baat, placed the Cartaris in the rare league of Indian fast pitchners who rely not only on skills but also have a strong understanding of plans and struggle situations.
“The considerable thing about Anshula is that he understands the plan. I have seen so many fast pitchners who, when they asked the plan, simply say they want to express themselves and enjoy the game,” Ashwin said.
“But Anshul knows the plans and how to make them in the middle. This is not a feature that many pitchers have. Zheer Khan had it – he was amazing.
24 -year -old Haryana Pacer made his head turns with consistent performances for India and against the English lions before the test series. He raised five goals in four shifts in Northampton and Canterbury, impressed his late movement and reflection.
Ashwin appreciated the Cartoy’s natural length and the position of the wrist – key attributes for success in English conditions.
“He has a very good tappa (natural length). I saw that even in IPL.
“With Bumurah and Siraj in XI, if you bring anshul a kartej, I tell you it’s a serious bowling attack.”
Ashwin also remembered Standout Power of the Capter against Kerale Last year’s Trophy, where he claimed 10 goal raids and emphasized his ability to mix long spells – a key factor in English conditions.
“He was in cracking in first -class crickets. On average around 13. You need it in England,” he said.
However, Ashwin also warned that the team management would have to help the young man if he was his test cap in Old Trafford.
“People say they didn’t play in England, but he was there on a tour.
