Jammu and Kashmir police have busted a major interstate terror cell linked to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Two have been arrested in Saharanpur and Faridabad in connection with this case. 360 kg of ammonium nitrate was recovered from the person arrested in Faridabad.
Key operatives of the terror module were arrested along with recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition as well as explosives during coordinated searches in Jammu and Kashmir and other states, according to a press release issued by the J&K Police.
On October 19, several JeM posters were seen in Bunpora Nowgam, Srinagar, threatening and intimidating the police and other security forces, following which FIR No. 162/2025 U/S 13,16, 17, 18. 18-8, 19, 20, 610, 2A, Act 2A Section 610 147, 148, 152, 351(2) BNS, Section 4/5 Explosives Act and 25.7.27 Arms Act was registered at Nowgam Police Station, Srinagar, according to J&K Police.
After the FIR, an investigation was conducted that revealed an “ecosystem of white-collar terror” involving professionals and students radicalized into terrorist ideology who were in touch with foreign handlers based in Pakistan and other countries, according to a press release.
“The group uses encrypted channels for indoctrination, coordination, fund movement and logistics. Funds were raised through professional and academic networks under the guise of social/charitable events,” the press release said.
