Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday after he was deported by the United States.
Anmol was one of India’s most wanted fugitives and faces various charges, including aiding and abetting Bishnoi gang associates, providing them with shelter and logistics, as well as running terror and extortion syndicates from abroad.
Wanted in connection with the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the shooting at actor Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024, the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewal, among other crimes, Anmol was “removed” from the US on Tuesday. He was detained in the US last November.
He was taken to the Patiala courthouse in Delhi.

6.27 pm: Anmol Bishnoi has been sent to 11-day NIA custody by the Patiala House Court.

Allegations against Anmol Bishnoi:
“US-based Anmol Bishnoi has been absconding since 2022 and is the 19th accused to be arrested for his involvement in a terror syndicate led by his jailed brother Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol was charged by the NIA in March 2023 after investigation into the case found that he was actively helping designated terrorist Goldy Berori in the Lawrence Bishnoi Commission. 2020-2023,” according to the NIA.
“Anmol worked closely with various associates of the Bishnoi gang and continued to run terrorist syndicates and carry out terrorist acts from the US for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang with the help of his agents on the ground. Investigation revealed that Anmol Bishnoi provided shelter and logistical support to the gang’s shooters and ground agents,” he also said in the extortion with the help of the central office in India from the foreign soil of the gang.
“The NIA continues to investigate case RC 39/2022/NIA/DLI (a terrorist gangster conspiracy case led by Lawrence Bishnoi) as part of its efforts to destroy the nexus between terrorists, gangsters and arms smugglers, including their infrastructure and funding channels,” he added.
