Former MLA Anil Akkara has written to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to urgently intervene to ensure the completion of the stalled Wadakkanchery LIFE Mission housing project, one of the flagship housing initiatives of the Chief Minister’s first term.
In his letter, Mr. Akkara pointed out that the construction of the flats was stopped midway, even though the project was conceived as a major social measure of the government. He noted that the Public Interest Litigation he filed in the Kerala High Court seeking the state government to take over and complete the project is currently under consideration.
He said a technical inspection has been carried out on the directions of the court and the government has already submitted a report to the High Court confirming that the building has sufficient structural stability. However, the court was unable to give a final verdict as the government had not yet given approval to resume and complete the construction, he said.
Urging the Chief Minister to intervene, Mr. Akkara appealed for immediate action to facilitate the completion of the Wadakkanchery LIFE Mission flats so that the beneficiaries do not suffer any further delay.
