Members of Anganwads of workers and helpers who were associated with the Center of Indian Trade Unions (Cit) on Friday (September 12, 2025).
The State Secretary General Union Karusala Subbaravamma and the State Secretary of Cit K. Umamaheswar Rao announced it at a press meeting here on Friday. State leader said that Anganwadi staff and helpers were neglected in the state.
“While the 50th anniversary of the ICD (Integrated Child Development Services), Anganwadi workers and helpers are not sure of employment. They play a key role in reducing the mortality and infant mortality and in achievement of humanity and human development.”
He recalled that the Supreme Court and the Central Government agencies recommended to ensure Anganwadi’s job to workers and helpers and accused government of being indifferent by not raising salaries in accordance with rising prices of basic commodities.
Mr. Umamahaeswara Rao accused central and state governments of not raising funds to develop Anganwadi Center and did not address workers’ problems.
“After several agitations, the center increased only 500 Crore in the budget for only five Pais per person. Since 2014, it has not raised wages, while the state did not participate in 2019. When the staff in 2023 in 2023 achieved eight GOS and 4,687 mini anganwadi.
Anganwadi workers should be recognized as government employees and paid a minimum monthly salary of 26,000 GBP. He said that problems and future action plans will be discussed during a two -day meeting that is likely to participate in more than 1,000 state leaders.
