Britain’s disgraced former Prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, brother of King Charles III, has not responded to a request by US lawmakers for an interview about his friendship with the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew was stripped of his titles and evicted from his royal seat by the king over his relationship with Epstein, on 30 October.
The letter, signed by sixteen Democratic members of Congress, stated: “The well-documented allegations against you, along with your longtime friendship with Epstein, suggest that you may have knowledge of his activities relevant to our investigation.”
Lawmakers have asked Andrew to participate in a “transcribed interview” with the House Oversight Committee investigating Epstein and to respond by Nov. 20.
However, Andrew has not replied yet.
“Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s silence in the face of Democrats’ demand for oversight of the testimony speaks volumes,” AFP reported, citing statements by Robert Garcia and Suhas Subramanyan, two members of the committee.
Garcia and Subramanyan said the committee’s work to understand the extent of Epstein’s network “will move forward with or without” testimony from Andrew, 65.
“We will hold accountable anyone who was involved in these crimes, regardless of their wealth, status or political party. We will achieve justice for the survivors,” they said.
In 2019, Andrew famously resigned from royal duties following his interview with BBC Newsnight in which he denied meeting Virginia Giuffre, the lead accuser of US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Giuffre’s tragic suicide in April at her home in Australia and explosive revelations in her posthumous memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl’ opened the floodgates to outrage and eventually forced the palace to take major action.
Andrew has always denied the allegations.
Earlier this week, US President Donald Trump signed legislation to compel the Justice Department to release files on Epstein.
In a post on X, Trump said the measure would help reveal the truth about some Democrats and their connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
