In fresh trouble for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, who was formally stripped of his princely title by his brother King Charles III, he is being investigated by London police and could face jail, a report said.
The king announced on October 30 that he was stripping his brother of his titles and evicting him from his royal residence because of his relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The News Nation reported that Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is also being investigated for recklessly using charity money.
The report says that London police have publicly said they are “actively looking into” claims that Andrew asked a close protection officer in 2011 to dig up personal information about Virginia Giuffre.
Historian Andrew Lownie, author of the book ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’, told the newspaper: “Andrew will be charged with various public offenses and misconduct in public office … he will probably go to prison. The case against him is quite clear. It is quite clear, it is toast.”
Lownie also claimed that Andrew was obsessed with prostitutes and also brought them to Buckingham Palace, which the Queen knew.
In 2019, Andrew famously resigned from royal duties following his interview with BBC Newsnight in which he denied meeting Virginia Giuffre, the lead accuser of US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew.
Giuffre’s tragic suicide in April and explosive revelations in her posthumous memoir ‘Nobody’s Girl’, in which she recounted the allegations in shocking detail, opened the floodgates to outrage and ultimately forced the palace to take major action.
Meanwhile, the British minister called on Andrew to cooperate with the US Congressional panel investigating Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring.
“I think if anyone has information that can help with the investigation, they should. But it’s a private person’s business.” Housing Minister Steve Reed told BBC Radio.
What was in the announcement?
A notice published in The Gazette – the official public record of the United Kingdom – said “THE KING has been pleased by letters patent under the Great Seal of the Realm, dated 3 November 2025, declaring that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of Royal Highness” and the titular dignity of Prince.”
