Andhra University Vice-Chancellor GP Raja Sekhar has outlined a broad institutional plan for the university that includes academic reform, infrastructural renewal and social outreach as the institution celebrates its centenary. In an interaction with The Hindu, he described the milestone as “an opportunity to reposition the university in the competitive landscape of higher education”.
The university started its centenary activities on April 26, 2025 and launched a year-long program leading up to its 100th foundation day on April 26, 2026. “I assumed office on March 1, 2025 and despite the limited time for preparation, we released the draft vision document on April 26, when the centenary activities formally began,” said Mr. Raja Sekhar.
