Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on Saturday said that the DSC-2025 recruitment was done in a transparent and impartial manner. He strongly condemned the YSR Congress Party’s campaign against the recruitment process.

Addressing the media in Vijayawada, Mr. Durgesh said that the government has fulfilled its promise to conduct the Mega DSC transparently. He alleged that the YSRCP had filed 335 petitions in the Andhra Pradesh High Court with the intention of “preventing unemployed youth from securing jobs”.

Referring to the PIL filed by the YSRCP MLC, Mr. Durgesh said the Supreme Court questioned the party’s intervention when no affected candidates approached the court. “The Supreme Court’s reminder is a slap in the face of the YSRCP,” he said.

Mr. Durgesh said that the first file that the Chief Minister signed after assuming office was that of DSC and the government filled all 16,347 posts in a record 148 days. The notification, merit lists, answer keys and grievance redressal details were publicly available, he said.

The minister insisted that the final selection was made not only on the basis of merit order but also in accordance with categories of candidates, availability of seats, roster system and horizontal reservations for women, persons with disabilities, sportspersons and ex-servicemen.

He defended the inclusion of bridge as a sport in the recruitment process, noting that it was recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia. He accused YSRCP leaders of creating controversies without understanding the importance of the sport.

Mr. Durgesh accused the YSRCP of trying to undermine the efforts of thousands of unemployed candidates who had worked hard. He said that people will teach YSRCP a lesson if it continues to make baseless allegations against Mega DSC.
