The Andr Pradesh government has established a high-level advisory committee that promotes green hydrogen and its derivatives as part of the “green hydrogen-maravati” initiative.
This step follows the green hydrogen summit organized at SRM University in Amaravati in July 2025, where the state revealed its vision to appear as the largest Indian green hydrogen center by 2030.
According to Go Mrs. No. 82 issued by the energy department on Wednesday, the committee would lead the adoption of technology, research and development of infrastructure for production, storage and application of green.
Dr. VK Saraswat, a member of Niti Aayog, would be chairman of the committee. While Chief Secretary of Andr Pradesh K. Vijayanand would serve as his co -chairman, NREDCAP CEO. M. Kamalakar Babu would be a member.
The committee would also include higher government officials, scientists and managers of institutions such as CSIR-NCL, PUNE, Ministry of Railways, Fraunhofer Institute (Germany), SRM University, Greenko and Renew Power.
Annual reviews of progress and summits would be performed at SRM Universities to monitor progress.
Officials stated that the aim of this initiative is to manage innovation of pure energy, create green jobs and strengthen the role of Andr Pradesh in the Indian transition to the sustainable hydrogen economy.
