Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu retweeted Jacob Helberg, US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment, to Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s message on X (formerly Twitter). Mr Pichai expressed happiness over his discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on plans to set up Google’s first ever AI center in Visakhapatnam.
Mr Pichai said the proposed hub would integrate gigawatt-scale computing capacity, a new international undersea gateway and extensive energy infrastructure. Through this initiative, Google aims to bring its cutting-edge technology to businesses and users in India, accelerate AI innovation and drive growth nationwide.
In his response, Mr. Helberg noted that the transfer of Google’s full AI suite to Andhra Pradesh marked a significant step that opened market access for American services and businesses in one of the world’s fastest growing markets. He described it as a clear demonstration of US technology leadership and a step towards a deeper innovation partnership between the US and India.
