Sachin Tendulkar, who played 200 test matches and scored a record 15,921 runs, described the format as the basis for his cricket journey.“For me, the cricket test embodies life – you give the best, and if something goes wrong, it gives you the next day to regroup, think, stolen and bounce. It is the highest form of game that teaches you endurance, discipline and adaptability, against all chances,” Tendulkar said.

The announcement was welcomed through cricket boards and administrative management. It is a question of immense pride that the series will be named after Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson,” Saikia said. “They lit the game with brilliant performances that inspired millions.”
