PMK President Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss announced on Tuesday that he will lead a protest against the DMK government for not conducting a caste survey, not introducing internal reservations for Vanniyars in the Most Backward Classes category and protecting social justice in Chennai on December 17, while postponing the nationwide “siege of government offices and protest against jail filling announced on January 29 next year”.
Tamil Nadu was to be the first state in India to conduct a caste census. But while two south Indian states have completed it and a third is about to complete it, Tamil Nadu stands by its stand that a caste census should never be held there, he said in a statement.
