The District Administration Anantapore takes significant steps to transform public libraries – Grandhalaya Samsthas into knowledge centers for future generations. As part of the initiative, libraries will now offer training in the field of drawing, painting and other creative disciplines. Officials were also asked to provide all basic equipment in libraries.
The common collector of Shiv Narayan Sharma, who is in charge of the library in the district, recently met officials of all 79 libraries in the district. Mr. Shiv Narayan asked officials to identify retirement experts who were willing to serve as source and mentors’ students coming to libraries in drawing, dancing, painting and playing musical instruments.
He asked officials to create awareness of summer training courses held by Grandhalaya Samsthas and to ensure that students make full use of classes. Officials were also asked to keep the libraries open so that students appearing for competing examinations can have a flexible approach.
Mr. Shiv Narayan emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, compliance with the planned operating hours and timely collection of library fees from municipalities and Panchayats to support continuous improvements.
The common collector also asked officials to ensure basic equipment such as toilets, lighting, fans and drinking water, are available in libraries.
