Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra introduced a red carpet for Tesla Elon Muska because the giant electric vehicle (EV) officially enters the Indian market.
Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, took the X (formerly Twitter) platform to welcome Tesla and emphasize the importance of competition.
Mahindra shares an old playful challenge for Tesla
Along with the welcome of Mahindra, she also shared screenshot of the exchange between him and Elon Musk from 2017.
In this paper, Musk praised India’s obligation to sell only electric vehicles and its position for the largest market for solar energy by 2030.
Mahindra replied to it and said, “The time you got here, Elone. You don’t want to leave the whole market to Mahindra? The more cheerful and greener.”
Competition to manage innovation
In the last post X Mahindra, she said, “Welcome to India, @elonmusk and @Tesla,” he adds that “one of the largest EV opportunities in the world has become more exciting.”
The Indian entrepreneur also said, “We are looking forward to meeting the charging station.”
Netizens respond to the post
Mahindry’s welcome post received mixed responses from X users.
The user pointed out that Fortuner sold approximately 29,000 units last year in India £35–55l. Will people really buy Tesla £60l?
Another X user reflected the statement by saying, “Tesla’s arrival will not have a big difference; only a few rich people can afford it.”
Unlike negative comments, the user said: “Tesla not only sells EV! Integrates EV with XAI (trained for Indian data and world data). This is where Indian manufacturers EV will miss and lose the battle EV if the heavy internal AI system does not develop.”
Tesla input to India
Tesla officially launched its activities in India by inauguration of its first showroom, “Tesla Experience Center”, in a prominent Bandra Kurl complex in Mumbai.
The company launched its premium SUV, model Y, with prices starting around £61 Lakh (on the road).
