
On Sunday (April 13), the CPI State Committee expressed deep sadness over the unity of Kailasapatnam, Kotavuratla Mandal, Anakapall district, which resulted in the death of eight workers and left another seven seriously injured.
The State Secretary of the CPI (M) V. Srinivasa Rao said in the edition that all victims were migrant workers from Samarlak in the East Godavari district who came to seek a job. The party demanded that the government to provide the families of each deceased worker compensation of CRORE 1 GBP and ensure proper medical treatment to the injured.
CPI (m) pointed out that industrial accidents often occur in the anacapall district and accused the government of failing to prevent them. He attributed the repetition of such tragedies to lax inspections to FireCracker units. The government should initiate a thorough investigation of the incident and expand all necessary support to the families of victims, he added.
In a separate edition, the State Secretary of CPI K. Ramakrishn also demanded a comprehensive investigation into a fire accident. He expressed deep sadness and pointed out that despite frequent industrial accidents in the anakapall district, the authorities did not take specific steps. He claimed that incidents emphasized the negligence of officials.
He also demanded adequate compensation for families of deceased and free medical care of the injured.
