(Bloomberg) – The US would allow Kurdish militant leaders in Syria and Turkey to re -relocate in America if it helps to support the transition of their groups from armed struggle to civilian life, said the highest diplomat.
According to Tom Barrack, members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, and its Syrian associated society, YPG, according to Tom Barrack, which is quoted with governments in Ankara and Damascus on Saturday.
Militant leaders could move to the US, if they wish, Barrack said.
PKK, designated by the terrorist organization of the European Union and the US, has led a decade long uprising for Kurdish autonomy against the Turkish state. In May, however, the group said it would dissolve and declare that it has fulfilled its mission and that the Kurdish problem can now be solved through conventional policy.
In Syria, the re -integration of the largest minority will take time due to lack of trust, the agency quoted Barrack as a proverb. Yet the parties are expected to eventually make a “beautiful wedding,” he said.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan applauded a symbolic burning of weapons militants PKK and said the events have marked the “new page” and committed to solving problems through dialogue.
“Since yesterday, 47 years have ended terrorist meters,” Erdogan told members about his sides in Ankara on Saturday.
The PKK fight for autonomy cost $ 2 trillion into the Turkish economy, Erdogan said. Since now, the ruling party AK, its nationalist party of the ally and the Pro-Kurdish Dem party “walks together”, added.
