The opposition BJP accused Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of inducting “corrupt old ministers” into his ministry and described the government led by Mr Shivakumar as “a continuation of the old corrupt and failed regime in the guise of a new one”.

In a post on social media, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok claimed that the people of the state are hoping not just for a change in leadership but for a change in the style of governance. But the sight of a new ministry, he said, would indicate the return of those who brought the state to a sorry state by indulging in corruption.
